The skin is the largest organ of the human body. Its main function is the protection from environmental pollutants, UV exposure, microorganisms and allergens. The intercellular lipid matrix of the stratum corneum consisting of characteristic lamellar structures, plays a key role in this defense mechanism. When this protective barrier is compromised, our skin becomes dry, sensitive and irritable. It remains in the upper parts of the skin and replenishes intercellular lamellar lipids of the stratum corneum. This mechanism supports and regenerates the skin barrier in a natural way. In addition, the three-dimensional network of SLM Skin Lipid Matrix\u00ae is able to stabilize cosmetic formulations without the need for an additional conventional emulsifier. Therefore, it provides the perfect basis for skin-friendly formulations that can be applied in products for skin repair and protection, as well as in products for dry and sensitive skin.<\/p>\n

SLM Eco\u00ae is based on hydrogenated phosphatidylcholine from sunflower. In addition to its beneficial effects on the skin, SLM Eco\u00ae is COSMOS-approved and hence perfectly suitable for cosmetics meeting the highest demands for quality and naturalness. SLM 2026 is produced with hydrogenated phosphatidylcholine from soybean. It is widely used as a base for sophisticated cosmetic formulations.<\/p>\n
