Supporting Product Documents

Putting a product on the market presumes compliance to all applicable requirements. At the same time, the regulatory environment is becoming increasingly more complex. We take care of customer questions, data requests and supply documents in a suitable form to cover documentation obligations. To give our customers the best possible support, we additionally make specific documents available for each of our products.

Compliance to EU REACH

REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals) regulation aims to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals.

All our products, i.e. their substances, conform to the requirements of the REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 including their modifications and updates.

Lipoid Kosmetik AG, due to its location outside of the EU, is not a manufacturer/ importer as defined in REACH. However, to provide the best service for our customers, Lipoid Kosmetik AG appointed an only representative which takes over the responsibility for the registration of all substances as needed:

Lipoid Kosmetik GmbH, Ritterstrasse 42, 47228 Duisburg, Germany

Where to find REACH relevant information for our products:

  • Please find the substance-related information about the REACH Status on the Product Composition Declaration, which is part of our standard documentation for each of our products.
  • The SDS of our products are regularly updated to at least meet the requirements of the applicable requirements of the REACH Regulation (Art. 31 and 32). Thus, our SDS shows the REACH relevant information as applicable and/or as currently communicated by our raw material suppliers.

Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC)

Substances of Very High Concern are defined in the REACH Regulation and include substances which have very serious effects on human health and the environment. These substances can be found in the “Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern for Authorisation” on the ECHA Website. This list is periodically updated.

Our current SVHC Statement.

Compliance to GHS / CLP

GHS (Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals) is a standardized global system for the communication of chemical hazards created to improve the protection of human health and the environment. The implementation in the EU is done through the CLP (Classification, Labelling, and Packaging of Chemicals) Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.

Chemicals’ hazards are to be communicated along the supply chain by the Safety Data Sheet. Even though the vast majority of our products are not classified we provide Safety Data Sheets as a standard document. This is due to the fact that SDS are an efficient way to share non-obligatory information.

Compliance to Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS)

The Nagoya Protocol on ABS is a new international treaty introduced at the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) on October 2010 in Nagoya, Japan. The protocol has been in force since October 12, 2014. Its objective is the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from the use of genetic resources, thereby contributing to the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and implementing the three objectives of the CBD:

  • The conservation of biological biodiversity
  • The sustainable use of its components
  • The fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from the utilization of genetic resources

Our products are impacted by ABS regulations to varying degrees depending on the claims made and the plant material used.

We are not only affected by the ABS legislation but are also convinced that this is the right path to work towards a fair distribution of resources around the globe. We make every effort to use due diligence where applicable.
