Phospholipids As Functionals
The skin is our body’s first line of defense. As it faces daily stress from the environment, it is even more important to protect and soothe our skin. Lipoid Kosmetik’s range of hydrogenated phospholipids are perfect functionals to formulate skin-friendly products that keep the skin healthy and resilient.
Hydrogenated phospholipids mimic the natural lipids that constitute the skin barrier. They function as powerful, all-natural emulsifiers, provide a silky and smooth skin feeling and act as skin barrier strengthening and replenishing agents. The INCI terms „Hydrogenated lecithin” and “Hydrogenated phosphatidylcholine” both belong to the group of hydrogenated phospholipids. While lecithin is a naturally occurring blend of phospholipids with defined composition, phosphatidylcholine represents its higher purified form.
Hydrogenated lecithin is a powerful emulsifier with excellent tolerability. Hydrogenated phosphatidylcholine effectively supports the skin barrier in a natural way and provides superior formulation aesthetics. In addition, SLM Skin Lipid Matrix® provides hydrogenated phosphatidylcholine with biomimetic lamellar structures.
Although each category of our hydrogenated phospholipids has its premier application, they are all multifunctional ingredients, providing several benefits with a single ingredient. Therefore, they are perfectly suited for minimalistic formulations, natural and skin-friendly products and products for sensitive skin and dermo-cosmetics.
